Candidates having completed HSC course in science stream can apply for B.Sc degree in Physics. Admission to the course in most cases is done on merit bases. But admission to M.Sc in Physics is done on the basis of entrance test and/or interview. Osmania University, JNTU, etc are examples for Universities in Hyderabad conducting such kind of entrance test. Osmania University conducts an objective model entrance test comprising questions on aptitude as well as subject knowledge.

Master degree holders in Physics with a minimum of 55% marks can apply for Ph.D program in Osmania University. Admissions are done on the basis of entrance exam and questions will be based on the syllabus of the qualifying degree.
