Annamalai University, a reputed institution of our country, was established in the year 1929. Great philanthropist Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad, Kt, LL.D., D.Litt. was the founder of the University. The University has one of the largest residential complexes in our country. The colleges, playgrounds, and hostels of the University are spread over more than 1000 acres. The University has a dedicated Directorate of Distance Education. It was set up in 1979.

There are around 400 study courses in it. Postgraduate degree through distance learning mode was first started by Annamalai University. The University offers distance learning postgraduate courses in subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Bioinformatics, Botany, Law, Zoology and Applied Psychology. The courses offered by the University have the approval of the Distance Education Council, Delhi.

About the Paper

A degree course in Commerce is also offered by Annamalai University. The name of the course is B.Com. The course is of time duration of three years. The second year of the course has a paper called Office Organization and Secretarial Practice. There are detailed answers type questions in the paper. Candidates have liberty to do any five questions out of the ten given. All the questions in the paper carry equal marks, thus the questions carry 20 marks each.

Question paper is printed in two languages and candidates have the liberty to answer in the language of their choice. There are no objective questions in the paper and all questions are subjective questions which require descriptive answers.
