There is no dearth of good universities in our country but there are few which impart quality education to the students. Annamalai University is one such name which has been spreading knowledge since the year 1929. Annamalai University is considered to have one of the largest residential campuses in our country. The University is spread over 1000 acres. The University has a distance learning programme. The Directorate of Distance Education is dedicated to provide education to those who cannot pursue education on a regular basis.

The number of departments in the University is nearly 50. Many Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses are offered by Annamalai University. The University offers a degree course in B.Com. The Bachelor’s degree is of duration of three years. There is a paper in Elements of Insurance in the first year of the course. The exam of the paper is of 100 marks and three hours duration. There are 10 questions in the paper with a choice to answer any five. All the questions carry equal marks. Thus each question carries 20 marks. The exam is conventional type with detailed answer type questions.
