Eligibility to be a Paint technologist:
One should have successfully completed 10+2, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects. The minimum required marks are 50% in 10+2. This criteria varies from university to university. Students can also pursue a Diploma in Paint application technology at the Garware Institute, Mumbai.

Anyone who wishes to be a Paint technologist must have an inherent love for colors. Apart from this, the person must be sincere, hardworking and also be able to lead a team of people. The person must have good managerial skills with pleasing personality.

A B.Tech degree in Paint technology is available at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai. A B.Tech degree is also available at the Harcourt Butler Technological Institute in Kanpur (U.P)
These courses cover technology of oils, polymers, pigments, dyes, resins, powder coatings, Paint additives, resins and organic solvents. There is an added emphasis on chemical engineering as well.
