Aspect of textile engineering course in daily life of the mass
Textile engineering courses touch the daily life of the masses as products from the textile plants are used by all sections of the society. Textile engineering courses provide textile engineers training in design. The primary aim is to design and create textile products. Basically, textile engineering deals with the design of all varieties of textile, fiber, products and machinery. The textile could be natural or man made. A textile engineer deals with interaction of materials and machines. It also includes safety and health, waste and pollution control along with energy conservation.
If we look around us, textile products are omnipresent. Bed sheets, clothes, carpeting, upholstery, towels, fabrics are some of the textiles we deal with. Even in the hospital we look around, we find bandages, hospital gowns etc. There is simply no place in this world, where textiles are not used. We see that textile engineering is an interdisciplinary science as it has much in common with Mechanical, Chemical and Industrial engineering. In India, there are thousands of textile mills and this industry is divided into two parts. One is the handloom or the unorganized sector and the other is mechanized sector or the organized sector.
Some of the specialized fields of textile engineering are:
- Knitting and Knit CAD
- Weaving and Weave CAD
- Technical textiles
- Coloration technology
Eligibility requirements for doing Textile engineering course
For getting admission into premier institutes in textile technology, one has to clear the written exams of those institutes. The minimum criterion is that the person should have cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their subjects with a minimum of 50% marks. But this criterion varies from one university to the other.
Scope after textile engineering course
The textile engineering graduates are highly valued by the textile engineering companies and firms. The quality of the exported garment should be excellent, that is why this industry relies so much on its technical managers and experts. Textile professionals play a great role in production and management.
So, here we see how the textile engineering course changes the daily life of millions of people. The clothes people wear in everyday life and on special occasions all reflect upon the growth of textile engineering in India. Apart from this, we find that textiles and other materials which are used by people also reflect upon a country’s textile engineering prowess. Thus, we can conclude that textile engineering course in our country changes the daily life of masses.
