The Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology was founded by the major contribution of Government of Karnataka in association with ICICI Bank in the year of 2002. The institute has introduced a new wave in the field of biotechnology by providing quality education to the students. In a short period of time this institute has earned a well reputed position amongst the other popular institutes of Karnataka.
Campus:
Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology campus is spread over a large area of 20 acres and is located in the green city of Karnataka. The institute provides excellent infrastructure facility to its students. It also provides outstanding bioinformatics and biotechnology laboratories to enhance its training and research aspects. The institute will be hosting a Bio-IT center shortly that provides cutting edge platforms for genomes sequencing data analysis.
Courses offered:
The institute provides qualified and dedicated faculty members to its students and they also provide all sorts of study materials of various courses. The courses provided by the institute are Post Graduate Diploma in: Bioinformatics, Bio-techniques and Cheminformatics.
Admission Procedure:
The eligible candidates need to appear for an entrance test organized by the university. They must register first in the campus for appearing in the exam. Online Entrance test for this year would be conducted on 03, 04, 05 August 2010. The examination will lead the successful candidates to sit for an interview which will be held on 25-27 August.

The college provides assurance of having jobs within the course periods. Main Recruiters are AstraZeneca, Aurigene Technologies, Biobase, Biocon, Brickwork India, Carl Zeiss India, Connexios, Eppendorf, Gangagen Biotechnologies, GlaxoSmithKline, GSK-BDSI, Infosys Technologies, and IBM etc.
