Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) was established in the year 1947 as a Research Institution under the Government of India. Professor J.N. Goswami is the Director of the Laboratory. The laboratory is situated at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The laboartory is considered as a national research laboratory institute mainly for space and allied sciences which comes under the Department of Space.
