Annamalai University is a well known residential university of India. Among the courses offered by the University one is a postgraduate degree course in Political Science. The degree is M.A. in political science. The course is of duration of two years. In the second year of the course there is a paper on research methodology. The pattern of the exam of the subject is given below.

The duration of the paper is three hours and the maximum marks carried are 100. There are two sections in the paper. Section A consists of eight questions out of which any five are to be answered in about 300 words. Each question carries eight marks. This section carries 40 marks in total.

Section B consists of five questions out of which three are to be answered in about 1200 words. Each question carries 20 marks. The total marks carried by this section are 60.

The paper is so set that it covers the entire syllabus. The questions are all conventional types i.e. they are all long answer type questions. Thorough study of the entire syllabus is necessary for scoring good marks in the subject.
