TERI University was the first university in India aiming for sustainable development and to devote itself to study of environment, Natural sciences and resources & energy. The current campus of TERI University is located in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi which was inaugurated on 11th September, 2008 by the President of India Mrs. Pratibha Patil regarding that the university is doing a good work. The Campus has an innovative architectural design with such great technology that the power consumption there is reduced by 60%. The water saving measures reduce the consumption of potable drinking water by 25%.

Basically The Teri University offers PhD Programmes for the students in various fields like Environment & natural resources, Regulatory and Policy aspects, Biotechnology. The Masters Programmes at Teri university are in the course like Geoinformatics, Climate Change Science & Policy, Natural resource Management, Environmental studies, Water resources management,, renewable energy technologies & management, Plant technology, Buisness Sustainability, Infrastructure Management etc.  The TERI university also provides eLearning Facilities which opens the way for the students to learn about the Environment and Sustainable Development at their doorstep.

For admission to the PhD programmes and for Doctoral Programmes the students must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in the master’s degree. The students having knowledge about MATLAB and LABVIEW have an edge over the other students at TERI University.

The library at TERI University supports all the programmes offered by the university in terms of books for the students. Book fairs, Seminars, Workshops, library tours, Book exhibitions at the university help the students to know what is best available for them. Besides this the TERI University also give hostel facilities for its students who are girls due to limited number of rooms and here the priority is given to those candidates who are not the residents of Delhi or NCR areas. The hostel charges are

 One time Rs 5000/- refundable security

 For Rooms with two students in each the fees is Rs 6500/- per month,

 For Room with single occupancy the charges are Rs 8000/- Per month.
