Combined Defense Services Exam (I) Elementary Mathematics Papers
The CDS exam is conducted in the months of October and May. The application forms and other relevant information are published in Employment News and other leading newspapers by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The students can get the application form any of the designated post offices spread across the country. The Combined Defence Services examination is held in more than 40 centers throughout the length and breadth of India. The selected students are trained at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, Naval Academy, Goa and Force Academy, Begumpet, Hyderabad.
Examination Pattern
The question paper contains 100 questions; each question of 1 mark i.e. total marks is 100. The standard of the Elementary Mathematics paper will be that of the Matriculation Examination. Each question has four alternatives out of which only one is correct. Candidates are supposed to mark only correct answers and in case if there is any incorrect answer or more than one answers for single question then one third marks of the candidates would be deducted from their final score. The elementary mathematics paper contains questions from Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry and Statistics.
