Profile:

India Meteorological Department was established as an organisation under the Government of India. The deaprtment is mainly responsible for the meteorological observations, detection of earthquakes and weather forecasts in the country. The organisation is also referred or known as MET office. One of the another major function of the department is to forecast the tropical cyclones in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

Job Profile:

India Meteorological Department invites applications for the posts of Project Assistant and Technical Assistant on contractual basis. Project Assistant generally works on different projects assigned to them and Technical Assistant works on the technical aspects of the projects.

Eligibility:

The age of the interested candidates must not exceed 64 years for the post of Project Assistant while candidates interested in the post of Technical Assistant are required to have age not exceeding 62 years.

Educational Qualification:

Graduation is the minimum educational qualification set for the post of Project Assistant and Technical Assistant in India Meteorological Department.

Project Assistant: Only 5 posts are available.
Technical Assistant: Only 5 posts are available.

Pay Scale:

Project Assistant: Consolidated salary of Rs. 40000 per month.
Technical Assistant: Consolidated salary of Rs. 20000 per month.

Selection Process:

A selection committee has been organized with the help of responsible persons of India Meteorological Department. And only this selection committe will make the decision about the selection of eligible candidates.
