Electrochemistry is a division of chemistry. It is the combination of chemistry and engineering and is used for the manufacture of chemicals and other by products. Electrochemistry studies the chemical reactions that occur in a solution at the surface of an electron conductor and the electrolyte. This involves the transfer of electrons between the electrode and the electrolyte. Chemical engineering is concerned with the designing and creation of chemical plants in addition to the development of chemical processes that alters raw materials or chemicals into more useful forms. It is also used to remove chemicals from waste materials.
