Bhabha Atomic Research Centre was established in the year 1954 as a primary nuclear research facility of the country. The centre is located at Mumbai. The centre was initially started as the Atomic Energy Establishment Trombay. The centre later emerged as the primary nuclear research centre after taking over the charge of most nuclear scientists of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. The centre got its present name after the Homi J. Bhabha in the year 1966. Tarapur Atomic Power Plant was the first power reacter installed in the country. The first reactors at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre were imported from the west.

Job Profile:

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre is running a special recruitment drive for OBC category candidates for filling up the vacant posts of Stipendary Trainees (Category-II). The vacancies are to be filled under the disciplines of Plant Operator, Basic Science, Mill Wright and Instrumentation.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post of Trainee Pilot is 18 years as on 26 December 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the post of Trainee Pilot is 25 years as on 26 December 2011.

All interested candidates are required to strictly follow this age criteria or else they will not be considered eligible for the specified posts.

Candidates must also follow the Physical Standards set for the post i.e.

Minimum Height: 160 cms and Minimum Weight: 45.5. Kgs

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification that need to be possessed by the interested candiates is HSC (10+2) from a recognized board with minimum 60% marks in aggregtae.

Stipendary Trainees (Plant Operator/ Basic Science (Health Physics)): Candidates should have done HSC in Science stream and should also have studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects.

Stipendary Trainees (Mill Wright/ Instrumentation): Besides HSC, candidates should also have done minimum 2 years ITI or NCVT course in Mil Wright Mechanic or Instrumentation trade.

No. of posts: Total 36 posts are available.

Stipendary Trainees (Plant Operator): Only 10 posts are available.
Stipendary Trainees (Basic Science (Health Physics)): Only 8 posts are available.
Stipendary Trainees (Mill Wright): Only 8 posts are available.
Stipendary Trainees (Instrumentation): Only 10 posts are available.

Pay Scale: Candidates will be paid the stipend of Rs. 6200 in the first year of their training period and Rs. 7200 in the second year of training period.

Selection Process:

A written examination of one hour duration will be conducted by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in order to make selections of best suitable candidates. Only successfull candidates of this written examination will be considered at vthe time of making final selections.

How to apply: Candidates are required to submit their applications in the prescribed performa. Applications should be typed or hand written on A4 size paper. Attested xerox copies of educational certificates, experience certificates, date of birth certificates etc are also need to be sent in accordance with the application form. The envelope containing enclosures should be superscribed as “Application for the post of Stipendary Trainees Category-II against Advt. 02/2011″ indicating “Post No. _________” and “Name of the Trade: __________”.
