Career Prospects
Candidates who have finished their course can find jobs with Newspapers, press information bureau, magazines and monthly publications in addition to the Doordarshan, central information service, the AIR and internet websites. Employment can also be found with Television channels akin to ZEE TV, Star News, and Star TV etc. Candidates can also work as freelancers. The basic salary of the candidates who work as reporters and senior reporters is Rs. 5500 - Rs. 9000 as per the order of the Indian government. Chief Editors and sub editors have a salary of around Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10,500. Editors have an income of approximately Rs. 7500 to Rs.12000. The actual salaries of the candidates will differ according to their work experience and the firm that hires them.
