Mahant Laxminarayan Das College is coming under the jurisdiction of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University located at Raipur and the college came into existence from the academic year 1997-98. Academic session of the college:

For all the above-mentioned courses, the academic session begins in the month of July every year. For courses in yoga, journalism, computers, commerce and arts, the college begins every day at 7:30 am.

Course duration:

The duration of Bachelor of arts, commerce, computer application and business administration courses is three-years, for master of commerce and journalism & mass communication it is two years, one-year for bachelor of journalism and mass communication, post graduate diploma in computer application and yoga. For certificate course in yoga, the course duration is three months and for master of journalism and mass communication the course duration is two years. The intake capacity of Mahant Laxminarayan Das College for UG and PG course in Journalism & Mass Communication is 40 and 20 seats respectively. The college admits students to different courses as per the norms issued by the affiliating university from time to time.
