Shyam Lal College came into existence in the year 1964 and it was inaugurated by late Padamshri Shyam Lal Gupta. Late Dr. Zakir Hussain, the former Vice President of India and Chancellor of University of Delhi laid the basic stone of the College. The Evening College started its function from the year 1969. This college offers excellent education in Commerce and Humanities. The courses offered in the college are Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.), Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Economics, Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Hindi, Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Pol. Science, Bachelor of Commerce (general) Programme, and Bachelor of Arts (general) Programme. The college has computerized and air-conditioned library. The college also offers excellent banking and canteen facilities.
