The Malayalam Paper I of Tamil Nadu Matriculation Exam is a 100 marks paper. The students are given two and half hours to solve the paper. Paper I has mostly objective type questions with multiple choice answers. All the questions in the paper are from the syllabus itself.

The paper is to be answered in Malayalam only. The candidate must choose only answer of the given choices or else the whole question gets disqualified and he is likely to lose marks. There is no negative marking on the paper from the benefit of the examinee. He or she can choose to attempt all the questions in the paper. The objective type questions are also based on the portion studied during the course of the year.

The main aim of the paper is to test the grammar, vocabulary and language skills of the students. You need to make sure that you complete the whole paper by the given time. There is no provision of extra time for general students. Talk to your seniors and other students who have given the exam to get a better understanding of the advantageous and disadvantageous while writing the paper.
