Shivalik Institute of Education & Research came into existence in the year 2005 and the institute is affiliated to Punjabi University. It has also earned approval from the National Council of Teacher Education to offer teacher education courses.

Course Details:

Shivalik Institute of Education & Research is offering Bachelor of education course and this course is divided by the institution into three parts. The first part includes theory papers, second part includes skill in teaching and third and final part is sessional work. The institute believes in comprehensive and continuous internal evaluation of students and with this belief, the institute offers a number of assignments to the students in the course of their study to offer a deep understanding of the subjects.

Admission Procedure:

The institute admits students to the B. Ed course based on Joint Entrance Test conducted by any one of Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjabi University and Punjab University. Once the results of the entrance examination is announced, the selected candidates will be called for counseling by the appropriate university and the candidates are allocated seats based on their rank in entrance examination.

Infrastructure and other facilities:

Shivalik Institute of Education & Research is offering several facilities like medical facilities, mess, boarding facilities, sports for excellence, canteen, auditorium, science & mathematics lab, language lab, computer lab and library.

Co-curricular Activities at the institute:

The institute organizes tour for students with a view to stimulate national and emotional integration among students. The institute also exposes the students with co-curricular activities like best out of waste, interior decoration, fabric painting, pot making, clay modeling, etc… to offer the opportunity for the students for self-employment. The institute is also running a number of clubs like kindness club, social welfare club, sports club, cultural club, literary club and environment club and students are encouraged to participate in these activities.
