Bio-Statistician - How to become a Bio-Statistician?
The utilization of statistics to a variety of subjects on biology is called as Biostatistics. Statisticians who utilize their skills in fields related to health are called as Bio - statisticians. Similarly, the Annamalai University and the Madurai Kamaraj University also organizes exams in Biostatistics. The Indian Institute of Technology, the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Science, Indian Statistical Institute and the Mahatma Gandhi University of Kerala are some of the other academic institutions that hold Admission Tests in Biostatistics.
Who is eligible to apply?
The basic qualification students require to join the postgraduate course in Biostatistics is a degree in the allied streams; for example, B.Sc mathematics with Statistics or B.Sc Statistics. A personal interview will also be conducted by the universities prior to granting admission.
How to prepare for exam and interview?
The main quality a person needs in order to become a biostatistician is good reasoning skills and persistence. It is also required for them to have an aptitude towards research. Good knowledge in computer software technology will also be needed for them. The aspirants can develop these qualities by going to computer coaching classes. When they are preparing for the exams, the aspirants must make sure that they have noted down all the important points. Noting down smaller points as they study will help them to memorize it. Also, prior to appearing the exam, the aspirants must make sure that they have with them all the necessary items needed for the exam. At the time of the interview with the board, the students should take some time before answering each question. They must also reply in an honest and unbiased manner.
