Birbhum Institute of Engineering and Technology is one of the leading engineering colleges in Birbum, West Bengal. The district of Birbhum holds the prestigious Viswa-Bharati University and is famous for arts and literary works. But the district was lacking one college to provide technical education to the students located in rural area. Hence this college was established by ICARE Birbhum by the team efforts of many influential persons. The college was approved by AICTE in the yar 1999 and college started functioning from 2000 onwards. The institute is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology.

Admission Procedure:

The procedure for admission is governed by West Bengal University of Technology and as per the norms of AICTE. The candidate must have passed higher secondary exam or its equivalent with English as a subject with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as aggregate.

Admission is strictly based on the Joint Entrance Exam conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination or by the AIEEE test. The selection is based on the marks obtained in the entrance test and higher secondary course.

Placement:

The college provides valid training for the students by conducting workshops, seminars and organizing industrial visits. The training is also conducted by reputed companies like Infosys at the college premises. Grooming is also conducted by various companies in the campus for preparing the students for industry atmosphere.
