How to fill IES forms?
The application for the IES or UPSC Engineering Services Exam can be got from selected post offices or head post offices across the nation. The announcements for the civil service exams will come out in the website of the UPSC as well as in all leading periodicals by the end of December annually.
Instructions to be followed for filling in form
The candidates should make certain that they fill the form correctly according to the instructions provided. Details of the exam centre should also be provided appropriately. If any of the required details are not provided, the form is liable to get rejected.
The candidates must ensure that they have attached all the required papers alongside the form. The information that is provided in the form will not be considered unless the proper documents are produced.
The price of the form is Rs. 50. The candidates can make this payment in the form of the Central Recruitment Fee Stamp. No other method of payment shall be entertained. The candidates must also make certain that they send their forms as early as possible.
Exemptions to be taken care while filling in form
Some exceptions are given for candidates. They should be aware of them while they are completing the application form. They are:
- Aspirants who belong to the reserved communities will get an age relaxation of 5 years (OBC will have 3 years).
- The higher age limit for employees of the central government is 5 years. Those who belong to the SC/ST categories will get 10 years and candidates of the OBC category will get 8 years.
- Candidates who are meritorious in sports and women who are divorced will also get age relaxation. But, they will be required to provide the required certificates with the applications.
- Ex – servicemen/ ECOs/SSCOs will get a relaxation of 5 years.
- Candidates who are handicapped or are deaf/blind will get age relaxation of 10 years.
Last date for receipt of applications
The last date for the submission of the applications online is the 7th of February, 2011. The time line is 11:59 pm. The last date for the submission of the form offline is 14th February, 2011.
Acknowledgement of exam application form
When the UPSC receives the application, they will send the Acknowledgement Card to the candidate. The aspirants should be getting this card within 30 days. If the card is not received, the candidates should get in touch with the commission without delay. If they are delivering the form to the office of the commission directly, they will get the Acknowledgement Card at that moment. If an application is rejected by the commission, the same will be notified to the candidates at the earliest.
