Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University came into existence in the year 1998 under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act 1998, which was amended in the year 1999. The university is acting as an affiliating-cum-teaching university offering education in the faculties of journalism & mass communication, law, education, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, medicine, management, architecture, technology and engineering.
