Central Police Force (Assistant Commandant) Exam Essay, Précis Writing & Comprehension Papers
UPSC conducts the exam of Exam Essay, Précis Writing & Comprehension for recruiting candidates in the post of Assistant Commandant in Central Police Force. Division or Section in the paper:
The paper does not carry any kind of division or section, but different main question along the length.
Pattern of the paper:
The paper carries a maximum of three main questions, of nature Essay, précis and comprehension. The first main question carries four different topics to write essay on, and candidates have to choose any one. They have to be answered in about six hundred words. The second main question has a maximum of two précis based question, in which two passages are offered and candidates have to write précis on both. The length of the précis should be one third of the length of the paper. The last main question carries a single comprehension passage, and there are ten sub-questions which has to be answered.
Markings evaluated by the Examination Panel:
The total mark of the paper is one hundred and fifty. The first question carries sixty, the second question carries forty and the third carries fifty marks.
Time allotted for the examination:
The maximum time offered in two hours.
