Dr M G R Medical University is one of the reputed universities of Tamil Nadu India. Of all B.Pharma is one of the major courses provided by this university. Pharmaceutical Analysis and Physical Chemistry is one of the subjects of 1st yr B.Pharma. This paper is a combination of two subjects Pharmaceutical Analysis and the other is Physical Chemistry. The question paper is such designed so as to give equal importance to both the subjects and the syllabus of both the subjects are well covered.

Sections in the paper

This paper consists of two parts each containing equal marks. And each part is further divided into three parts.

Pattern and number of questions in the paper

As the paper consists of two subjects there are equal no of questions of both the subjects. The paper is divided in two parts and each part has three similar sections. The first section is essay question type where one question is to be attempted out of the two questions. The second section is short notes where three questions are to written out of five questions and the third section is short answer question where two questions are to be written out of three. Similar pattern is there for the second part. So over all 4 essay questions are to be written, 6 short notes and 4 short answers.

Marks distribution in the paper

The total marks for the paper is 80. And the two parts contain 40marks each. The essay question carries 20marks each. The short notes carry 5 marks each and the short answer questions carry 2.5 marks each.

Total time for the paper

The total time allotted is 3hrs for the complete paper.

Syllabus for the paper

The pharmaceutical analysis part consists of different titrations, gravimetric analysis etc and the physical chemistry part contains thermodynamics, thermo chemistry, adsorption, chemical kinetics etc.
