Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology was established on November 18, 2002 under the Government of India. The centre is a premier reserach institute in India. The centre is devoted to the research activities in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. The centre is located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The centre was inaugurated by then President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The institute has various research departments which are working on medical biotechnology and plant genetic engineering. The institute is also a leading provider of laboratory and infrastructure services to various research institutions.
Job Profile:
Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology invites applications for the positions of Scientists in Disease Biology and Plant Biotechnology. Candidates should properly check the minimum educational qualification and also the prescribed eligibilty conditions required for the specified positions in Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology.
1. Recruitment of Scientist C:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have done MD or Ph.D. with atleast three to five years of experience in Post Doctoral. Candidates must also have peer reviewed publications with high impact factors as an Author.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.
2. Recruitment of Scientist E-1:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have done MD or Ph.D. with atleast six to nine years of experience in Post Doctoral. Candidates must also have peer reviewed publications with high impact factors as an Author.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 7600.
3. Recruitment of Scientist E-II:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have done MD or Ph.D. with atleast ten to twelve years of experience in Post Doctoral. Candidates must also have peer reviewed publications with high impact factors as an Author.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 8700.
4. Recruitment of Scientist F:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have done MD or Ph.D. with atleast ten to fifteen years of experience in Post Doctoral. Candidates must also have peer reviewed publications with high impact factors as an Author.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.
Selection Process:
The selection process for the above specified positions includes three stages:
1. Level 1 Screening: Only eligible candidates will be shortlisted in this Level 1 Screening.
2. Level 2 Screening: Level 2 Screening includes detailed review of the credentials, publications etc of applicants.
3. Final Selection Procedures: A personal interview test will be held where individual members will speak to applicants personally.
Only shortlisted candidates will reach to the final selection procedure. And the final selections of the candidates will be made only from the those shortlisted candidates.
How to apply: Applications for the specified posts will be recieved throughtout the year. A screening committee will examine the applications and shortlist eligible applicants. These shortlisted applicants will be then forwarded to the Selection Committee. All applications recieved till the 10th of May 2011 will be considered by the Screening Committee. Applications recieved after MAy 2011 will be considered only at the screening committee that will be held in the month of September 2011.
