Kuvempu University is one of the renowned universities in the country and offers courses in various streams. M.A faculty of the University is well known and this is a university which students all over the country covet to pursue their MA from.

During the first year of the course, the Education M.A students of Kuvempu University have to study Philosophical & Sociological Perspective of Education. At the end of the year, they need to face the exam of the subject and need to answer the paper. This paper is very important to Education M.A students.

Information on the subject and pattern of the question paper

The subject is a study of how the society perceives our education system. It also discusses the philosophical side of it. It also focuses on the changes that have to be introduced into our current education system. Emphasized are areas including problems that prevent most of the Indian population access to good education and the poor literacy rates of women and many other areas.

The paper is printed in both English and Kannada in order to facilitate the answering of students who have trouble understanding English. The paper consists of no sections. There are 12 questions in the paper. All the questions are descriptive type and there is not a single objective question in the paper. From the 12 questions, 8 have to be answered by the candidates. Some questions may contain sub questions.

Duration of paper and marking scheme

The candidates are allotted three hours for answering the paper. Fifteen minutes will be allotted for reading the question paper. The paper is marked out of 80. All the questions carry ten marks and the candidates have to answer a total of eight questions, making the total score 80.
