Navik (General Duty) - Indian Coast Guard
The Indian Coast Guard formally came into existence in the year 1978 through the Coast Guard Act 1978 as an armed force. The motto of ICG is to protect our offshore and ocean wealth inclusive of minerals, fish and oils. It is offering service under the Department of Defence of the Union Ministry of Defence.

Indian Coast Guard, invites applications from eligible male Indian citizens belonging to ST category for the position of Navik (General Duty).
Name of the position: Navik (General Duty)
Number of Vacancies: 52
Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be offered with a pay scale of Rs.5200-20200 plus a GP of Rs.2000. Eligibility:
Educational Qualification: To apply to the position of Navik, ST candidates must have completed their 10+2 with physics and mathematics subjects from an education board approved by the state/central government.
Age: Candidates must have born between 1st of February 1985 and 31st of January 1994, here five years relaxation has been included.

Selection Procedure:
Selection of candidates will be based on the merit secured by the candidates in the written test, physical fitness test and fitness in initial medical examination.

Candidates can download the application form from the website of ICG at www.indiancoastguard.nic.in. Candidates will have to submit the duly filled in application in plain paper in the format given in http://indiancoastguard.nic.in/Indiancoastguard/jobs/NVKstJun11.pdf either in typewritten or handwritten format to the zonal recruitment centres before the 08th of July 2011, which is 15th July 2011 for candidates belonging to far-flung areas.
Candidates belonging to Northern Zone, North-Eastern Zone, Eastern Zone, Western Zone and North-west zone should address the application to the appropriate zonal offices according to the address given in http://indiancoastguard.nic.in/Indiancoastguard/jobs/NVKstJun11.pdf for each zone separately.
