Dakshin Gujarat VIJ Company Limited is shortly called as DGVCL and this company was formed in the year 2003 on the 15th of September with the direction from the Gujarat Government for reorganization of the power sector in the state. Therefore, this company was formed after unbundling the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board.

Dakshin Gujarat VIJ Company Limited invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant) for working under various Operation & Maintenance Offices of the company.
Name of the position: Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant)
Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is approximately 150, which might increase or decrease at the discretion of the company.
Period of Appointment – The actual period of appointment is three years on temporary basis and on completion of three years, candidates might be posted on permanent basis in the same position on satisfactory performance.
Pay Scale: For the first year, the remuneration would be Rs.5500 per month, for the second year it would be Rs.6000 per month and for the third year it would be Rs.6500 per month and all these are fixed remuneration. During these three years, candidates will not receive any other allowances or benefits other than coverage under personal accident policy. On successful completion of three years, candidates will be posted in the pay scale of Rs.9700-21700
Eligibility Requirement:
Educational Qualification: Candidates must be graduates in B. Sc (agriculture), BCA, BBA, B. Sc, B. Com, B.A or any other graduation from a recognized university with not less than 55% for general category candidates and 50% for SEBC and SC/ST candidates. Candidates should also possess knowledge of English and computer and this will be assessed through pre-employment test.
Age: The upper age limit is 25 years for General category candidates and 30 years for SEBC, SC/ST candidates. Relaxation of ten years for PH, five years for female candidates, five to ten years for ex-servicemen and 15 years for dependants of retired employees of the company will be allowed.
Method of selection:
Selection of candidates will be based on written test, which will have 60% of objective type questions and 40% of descriptive type questions.
