Pay scale for Staff Nurse in Government Jobs
A staff nurse offers professional nursing care to the patients according to guidelines provided by the physicians. The work of staff nurse includes promotion and protection of health, prevention of injury and illness, alleviation of suffering and advocacy in the care of communities and individuals. In government organizations in India, staff nurses are brought under Pay Brand 2 and they are offered a pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 plus a Grade Pay of Rs.4600.

Educational qualification needed for finding jobs in government organizations as staff nurse:
For applying to the position of staff nurse in government organizations, candidates must have completed their Bachelor of Science in Nursing or candidates who have completed their senior secondary examination with three-year A grade diploma in nursing from a recognized institution are preferred for the position of staff nurse in government-run hospitals. Some of the organizations require that candidates must have completed their mid-wifery course to apply for this position and they must also have registered themselves with the respective State Nursing Council or Nursing Council of India.
Age requirement:
Not only government organizations, but also private organizations require that candidates must be between the age group of 18 and 37 years of age to apply for the position of staff nurse.
Selection Procedure:
Selection of candidates for the position of Staff Nurse in government organizations will be based on their performance in the personal interview that will be conducted by the selection committee. However, if the number of candidates applying for the position of staff nurse is higher some organizations also conduct written test as the first step in selection process and candidates performing well in the written test are called for personal interview as a step towards filtering the candidates appearing before the selection committee.
Job description of staff nurse:
Candidates appointed for the position of staff nurse will be responsible to assist physicians during diagnostic testing, administration of injections and medications, offer treatments to patients as per the instruction and sometimes under the supervision of the physician and to follow-up the patients to check their improvement and should inform the physician about the progress of the patients.
