M.K.C.G. in the name of the college stands for Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati and this college began its operations in the year 1961 with approval from the Medical Council of India with an approved intake capacity of 40 students per year for the MBBS course. The present intake capacity of the college for the MBBS course is 107 students per year.

Eligibility requirements:

For applying to the MBBS course offered by the M.K.C.G. Medical College, candidates must have completed their higher secondary examination in science stream with English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology as compulsory subjects.

Admission Procedure:

Admission of students to the MBBS course is done based on their marks in the Punjab Medical Test. They must have secured not less than 50% of marks in the entrance examination and candidates belonging to reserved category must have secured not less than 45% of marks in the entrance examination. Out of the total number of 107 seats available in the college for the MBBS course, 91 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the state of Orissa, while the remaining are All-India quota seats for which admission is done based on All India Medical Entrance Examination score.
