MBBS is one of the esteemed career options, where healing wounds and caring for the ailing are a part of the job. Among the different career avenues, MBBS is an interesting and exciting career course thereby attracting many students due to the professional experience that can be gained. Orissa is a state that houses some six colleges for MBBS course and students can seek admission to these colleges after successfully clearing their entrance examination.
Out of the six MBBS colleges in the state, three are state government-owned colleges and other three are privately owned colleges. All six medical colleges are approved by the Medical Council of India and they are known for the best quality medical education offered. MBBS course offered in the state are affiliated by the Sambalpur University, Utkal University and Berhampur University.
Admissions to MBBS in the state of Orissa:
In the state of Orissa admission of students to the MBBS course is done based on the merit secured by the students in the Orissa Joint Entrance Examination called as OJEE. This examination is conducted for admission of students not only to the medical courses, but also to other courses like hotel management, architecture, computer applications, management, pharmacy and engineering courses as well. This examination is open only for candidates belonging to the state of Orissa and the percentage of seats reserved for other state candidates are filled on the basis of All India Pre-Medical Test score of candidates.
