University profile: IGNOU is one of the reputed universities providing distant learning and open education in a variety of courses and programs. It is also involved in research and training. It has excellent facilities like student support services and cost effective programs etc.
Job profile: An assistant registrar will be responsible for the administration work in the department. He will also be responsible for managing and handling the finance, managing admissions and completion of all the related formalities.
Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 42 years. However, relaxation can be claimed.
Educational Qualification: A candidate must have a Master’s degree from a recognized university or institute with minimum of 50% marks and a good academic record. A candidate must also have a 3 years experience in administration/finance in the pay scale of Rs6500-10500.
No. of posts: There are 30 posts which include 10 posts for general, 5 posts for SC, 2 posts for ST and7 posts for OBC candidates.
Pay scale: The candidates will be given a pay scale of Rs15600-39100 plus a grade pay of Rs5400.
Selection procedure: The candidates will have to appear for a written test which will be of 2 hrs duration. Those candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for the interview process.
How to apply: The candidates have to apply as per the format given in the advertisement or on the website. The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs200 for GEN/OBC and Rs100 for SC/ST in the form of a DD drawn in the favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi. The applications must be sent to IGNOU, IGNOU post office, Post Bag no. 09, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi – 110068. The envelopes must be super scribed with the “Application for the post of……………..”
The last date for the receipt of applications is 7th September 2009.
