CWE Clerical Exam 2012
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducted a Common written examination for the recruitment of candidates to the Clerical posts of 19 Public sector Banks. This exam is approved by Indian Bank’s Association (IBA), Indian Government and the 19 banks. The exam is conducted two times in a year. This exam gives the chance to large number of people who have a dream to get into a job in the Banking Industry.
Structure of CWE Clerical Exam
The selection of the candidates will be based on the score secured in the written exam. The written test includes questions of objective type format of 250 multiple choice questions. The exam carries 250 marks and the time allotted for completing the exam is one and a half hours. The candidates have to secure a minimum cut off marks to qualify the exam. There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The test consists of questions from the area of reasoning, English Language, numerical Ability, Computer Knowledge and General Awareness.
Syllabus for CWE Clerical Exam
The questions of the written test are divided into five different sections. The topics for the exam are given below.
- Section 1: Test of Reasoning (50 Questions) (50 Marks)
- Section 2: Test of English Language (50 Questions) (50 Marks)
- Section 3: Test of Numerical Ability (50 Questions) (50 Marks)
- Section 4: Test of General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry (50 Questions) (50 Marks)
- Section 5: Test of Computer Knowledge (50 Questions) (50 Marks)
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who have passed their matriculation exam with 60% marks from any recognized board can apply for the test. Those candidates who have a Higher Secondary Certificate with 50% marks is also eligible for the test. The candidates who have a Bachelors Degree in any Discipline can apply for the CWE Clerical Exam conducted by IBPS. The candidates should be between the age of 18 and 28 years. Age relaxation is provided for certain category of candidates.
How to Apply?
The candidates can send the form by online and offline methods. The candidates can apply online through the website of IBPS. The fee payment is done through Visa/Credit card or through Internet Banking Service. They have to take the print out copy of the e-receipt form and should present at the time of the exam. The offline applicants have to take the print of the fee payment challan form from the IBPS website and the candidates can make the payment in any branches of the Central Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank and United Bank of India. After that an NEFT receipt is received by the candidates and it should be submit at the time of the exam. After the fee payment the candidates have to fill the online form and submit.
How to fill the Form?
The candidates have to fill the online application form with great care. The offline applicants have to fill the NEFT fee payment details and they have to upload their photo and signature in the application form. The online applicants have to fill an additional page also. The candidates have to click the submit button after completely filling the form. After submitting the form, the candidates have to take a print out copy of the form and check all the details filled in it are correct. The size of the photograph and the signature must be within the prescribed size. The candidates can edit the form within the due date. The application form should be submitted before the last date.
