GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test) for Engineering is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education in collaboration with the Government of Goa. It is conducted every year in the month of May. GCET examination enables the aspirants to get into bachelor’s degree programmes offered in different fields of Engineering.

Structure of GCET Engineering

Questions will be of objective type multiple- choice that contains 75 questions. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking. In order to perform well in the Goa Common Entrance Test one should prepare according to the Goa CET exam structure. The questions are asked from five sections that is Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Science/Biology.

Eligibility Criteria for GCET Engineering

Candidates who have completed their 12 th grade with majors like Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science/Biology are eligible for the test. The candidates should hold a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. The minimum marks requirement for SC/ST candidates is 40%.

How to Apply for GCET Engineering?

The Engineering aspirants of Goa can obtain the application forms of GCET by making the payment either by cash or demand draft through any nationalized bank in favour of ‘Goa Education Development Corporation’. The Candidates should submit the duly filled application forms along with three passport sized photographs before the last date of submission. The admit cards are issued on the same day of the submission of the application forms.

Study Plan for GCET Engineering

Studying is an intense process which requires a lot of energy and concentration. Set the portions according to one’s ability. The study environment influences you a lot. So choose a calm and quiet place. Some people can learn well in the mornings. If you are one among them then wake up a little early as you can utilize your best time effectively. Mix different subjects so that you won’t lack concentration. Sometimes we find it difficult to stick on to the plan. If you are allotting some space in between the time table, you can make use of that when you are running in short of time. Keep in mind that it is easy to stick on to a plan that seems to be working. Make constant improvements by taking a quiz on certain subjects or preparing an article on a particular topic.

• Figure out how much time is to be spent for a particular subject
• Plan when to study.
• Write down your ideas.
• Set a target time frame.
• Sort a list of clearly defined goals for each day.
