Paper Pattern:

The paper of Introduction to Computer Organisation is a conceptual paper; the paper contains 14 questions in it which are further divided equally into 2 sections. Section A is of 7 questions and each question is of equal marks, 5 questions from this section have to be attempted. Section B is of 7 long answer type questions and 5 questions are to be attempted from it; all questions are of equal marks. The paper is a theoretical paper and doesn’t have any numerical problem in it.

Questions in the paper are such as discussion of Von Neumann architecture, truth table of different gates, peripheral devices with examples, executing an instruction, functions of ALU, simple programme, high level language, assembly language, machine language, error detection and error correction codes, sketch of CPU, architecture of a microcomputer, RAM, ROM, Boolean expressions etc.

Total marks and time allotted:

A student can get a highest of 75 marks in the paper and time for the paper is 3 hours only. The section A of the paper is of 25 marks, each question in this section is of 5 marks each and Section B is of 50 marks, each question in this section is of 10 marks.
