Subordinate Services Commission was re-designated as Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on 26th September, 1977. Making recruitment to Group C and Group B posts in departments of Government of India is the main responsibility of SSC. Nine regional/sub-regional offices located at different states of India consitutes the network of Staff Selection Commission. A Chairmen assisted by two members and a secretary or controller of Examination, heads the commission. The commission can also advise the Government of India about the method and mode of recruitment.

Job Profile:

Staff Selection Commission invites applications from eligible Indian Citizens for filling up the following positions of Junior Translators, Junior Hindi Translators, Senior Translators and Hindi Pradhyapak. All the specified positions falls under Group ‘B’ Non Gazetted category except thepost of Junior Hindi Translators (Group ‘C’ Non technical).

1. Recruitment of Junior Translators (CSOLs):
Age limit: Maximum age limit is 30 years as on 1 August 2011.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4600.

Vacancies are in various offices or departments under Department of Official Language.

2. Recruitment of Junior Hindi Translators (in Subordinate Offices):
Age limit: Maximum age limit is 30 years as on 1 August 2011.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

Vacancies are in various Central Government Ministeries or Departments.

3. Recruitment of Senior Translators:
Age limit: Maximum age limit is 30 years as on 1 August 2011.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4600.

Vacancies are in Ministry of Defence.

4. Recruitment of Junior Translators:
Age limit: Maximum age limit is 30 years as on 1 August 2011.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

Vacancies are in Ministry of Defence.

5. Recruitment of Hindi Pradhyapak:
Age limit: Maximum age limit is 30 years as on 1 August 2011.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4800.

Vacancies are in Central Hindi Training Institute located all over India.

Application Fee:

Candidates should submit an application fee of Rs. 100 only. No fee is to be submitted by SC/ST/PH/Ex-Serviceman and Women candidates. The application fee must be submitted in the form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps available at Post office.

How to apply: The application should reach to the prescribed address on or before the last date for the reciept of application. Applications complete in all respect should reach to the Regional Office of the SSC for the test centre where candidates wants to apply.
