Sports Authority of India comes under the administrative control of Government of India. The authority was established in the year 1982 as a successor organization of the IXth Asian Games held in New Delhi. The major objective behind the establishment of the Sports Authority of India was to promote the Sports and Games of the Department of Sports. Maintaining the Stadiums located in Delhi for the IX Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982, is also a prime objective of the Sports Authority of India. The authority was awarded with the status of being a Deemed University in the year 1995.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for filling up the vacant posts of Junior Scientific Assistant in Sports Authority of India. The vacancies are to filled inthe sports medicine & Medicine cadres. The post of Junior Scientific Assistant is available in the discipline of Psychology, Physiology and Bio Mechanics. Number of vacancies is provisional and may vary as per the requirement of Sports Authority of India.

1. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Assistant (Psychology):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 25 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: Candidates are required to have done B.Sc. or B.A. in Psychology or Clinical Psychology or Applied Psychology from a recognized university. Also, candidates should have acquired atleast 60% marks in aggregate in their B.Sc. or B.A. degree.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2800.

2. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Assistant (Physiology):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 25 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: Candidates are required to have done B.Sc. in Physiology or Exercise Physiology from a recognized university. Also, candidates should have acquired atleast 60% marks in aggregate in their B.Sc. or B.A. degree.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2800.

3. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Assistant (Bio-Mechanics):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 25 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: Candidates are required to have done B.Sc. in Bio Physics from a recognized university. Also, candidates should have acquired atleast 60% marks in aggregate in their B.Sc. or B.A. degree.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2800.

Application Fee:

An application fee of Rs. 500 (only for General and OBC candidates) is need to be submitted alongwith the application form. This non refundable amount of application fee must be submitted in the form of a Demand Draft only. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of SECRETARY, SPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA payable at New Delhi only.

Selection Process:

Only those candidates, who fulfills the eligibility criteria, will be be called for the personal interview test. The selection will be made on the basis of the merit list prepared by the selection committee.
