Sports Authority of India was actually established in the year 1982 under Government of India. The authority came into existence as a successor organization of the IXth Asian Games held in New Delhi. The idea behind the establishment of the authority was to provide a helping hand in the promotion of Sports and Games of the Department of Sports. The authory also had the hold the responsibility of maintaining the Stadiums located in Delhi for the IX Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982. Later on, the authority garnered the status of being a Deemed University in the year 1995.

Job Profile:

Sports Authority of India is recruiting eligible candidates on the post of Junior Scientific Officer in sports Medicine & Medicine cadres. The post of Junior Scientific Officer is available in the discipline of Psychology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Food & Nutrition, Biomechanics, Anthropmetry and Sports Medicine.

1. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Officer (Psychology):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: M.Sc. or M.A. in Psychology or Clinical Psychology or Applied Psychology from a recognized university with atleast 60% marks in aggregate.

2. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Officer (Physiology):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: M.Sc. or M.D. in Physiology or Exercise Physiology from a recognized university with atleast 60% marks in aggregate.

3. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Officer (Bio Chemistry):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: M.Sc. or M.D. in Bio Chemistry from a recognized university with atleast 60% marks in aggregate.

4. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Officer (Food & Nutrition):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: M.Sc. in Home Science with specialization in Food & Nutrition or Applied Nutrition or Food Science or Dietrics from a recognized university with atleast 60% marks in aggregate.

5. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Officer (Bio Mechanics):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: M.Sc. in Bio-Physics from a recognized university with atleast 60% marks in aggregate.

6. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Officer (Anthropometry):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: M.Sc. in Anthropology or Human Biology from a recognized university with atleast 60% marks in aggregate.

7. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Officer (Sports Medicine):
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years as on 1 September 2011.
Education Qualification: MBBS with atleast one year internship and Diploma in Sports Medicine from a recognized university.

Application Fee:

Candidates will have to submit an application fee of Rs. 500 (only General and OBC candidates). The amount of application fee is totally non refundable. The application fee must be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of SECRETARY, SPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA payable at New Delhi.
