Punjab Pollution Control Board came into existence after the enactment of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 under the Government of Punjab, which in turn comes under Government of India. The board has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the provisions of few laws in the state of Punjab. The board has its head office located at Vatavaran Bhawan, Nabha Road, Patiala. There are three Zonal offices and 12 Regional offices comes under the board. Identifying the pollution sources and initiating follow up action for the prevention of pollution are the two strategies of the board.

Job Profile:

Punjab Pollution Control Board is making recruitment of eligible candidates on the positions of Assistant Environmental Engineer, Junior Environmental Engineer and Scientific Assistant. Candidates must ensure their eligibilty for the desired post before applying for it.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post is 18 years as on 18 July 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the post is 37 years as on 18 July 2011.

Interested candidates are required to have age within the prescribed age limit or else their applications will be rejected by the board.

Educational Qualification:

Assistant Environmental Engineer: Degree in Civil/Chemical/Environmental Engineering with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university or institution. Candidates should also have experience in pollution control.

Junior Environmental Engineer: Three years Diploma in Civil/Environmental or Chemical Engineering with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. Candidates should also have done computer course of atleast 6 months from a reputed institute.

Scientific Assistant: B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Basic Sciences or Life Sciences or Environmental Science or Microbiology from a recognized university is required for the post. Also, candidates should have done computer course of six months from a reputed institute.

Junior Environmental Engineer: Only 7 posts are available.

Scientific Assistant: Only 9 posts are available.
(Gen-4, SC-3, BC-1, EX.SM-1)

Pay Scale:

Assistant Environmental Engineer: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.
Junior Environmental Engineer: Rs. 10300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 3800.
Scientific Assistant: Rs. 10300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 3200.

Application Fee:

For the posts of Assistant Environmental Engineer and Junior Environmental Engineer: Rs. 500 is the amount of application fee that is need to be submitted by the General and OBC categories candidates. Rs. 125 is the amount of application fee for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

For the post Scientific Assistant: Rs. 400 is the amount of application fee that is need to be submitted by the General and OBC categories candidates. Rs. 100 is the amount of application fee for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of Coordinator, Entrance Test for PCB payable at Patiala.
