Institute of Company Secretaries of actually came into into extence under the Companies Secretaries Act, 1980 of Parliament. The institute is a renowned name in the field of regulating the profession of Company Secretary in India. The headquarter of the institute is located as New Delhi and it also has four regionals offices located in different states of the country. The institute was converted into a statutory body in the year 1981. At present, there are approximately 1.5 lakhs students studying in the instute. A council consisting of 20 members, is responsible for managing the affairs of the institute.
