National Brain Research Centre offers PhD and Integrated PhD courses in Neuroscience for graduates. To get admission in these courses, they should qualify an entrance test conducted by National Brain Research Centre.

Structure of National Brain Research Centre PhD Entrance Exam

There will be two sections of objective questions in this exam. First section will have the subject general knowledge or general awareness related to science. Second section will have the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. In the second section candidates need to attempt only three subjects.

Eligibility Criteria

For PhD (Neuroscience): Candidates should possess any one of the degrees given below with 55% marks.

  • Master’s degree in Science or equivalent in Life Science
  • Master’s degree in Science or equivalent in Physics
  • Master’s degree in Science or equivalent in Mathematics
  • Master’s degree in Science or equivalent in Statistics
  • Master’s degree in Science or equivalent in Computer Applications
  • Master’s degree in Science or equivalent in Pharmacy
  • Master’s degree in Science or equivalent in Veterinary Science
  • Master’s degree in Science or equivalent in Psychology
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in Technology
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in Medicine

Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

For Integrated PhD (Neuroscience): Candidates should possess any one of the degrees given below with 55% marks.

Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

For both programmes, candidates should possess minimum 60% marks in 10th and 12th.

How to Apply?

Applicants should visit the website www.nbrc.ac.in and submit their applications online. They will get a registration number after submitting these applications. They should send that number to the concerned authority to the e-mail id [email protected].

Applicants will obtain registration slip on submitting the applications online. This slip should be send to the Office of registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Nainwal Mode, NH-8, Manesar-122050 within the stipulated date. Applicants can pay the application fee for this exam through two modes given below

Through National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) mode: Applicants should send the required fee to Manesar branch account number in State Bank of India through NEFT.  After the completion of transaction, the bank will give a UTR number which should be entered on the online form. Applicants should also send that number to the concerned authority to the e-mail id [email protected].

Through Demand Draft (DD): Applicant can draw DD of application fee in the name of the Director, National Brain Research Centre from any branch of State Bank of India. They should send this DD along with the registration slip to the concerned authority.

Application fee should be paid by different category for this exam are given below

  • General candidates: Rs 700/-
  • SC/ST/PH candidates: Rs 350/-

How to fill the Form?

As the forms are filled through online, every detail should be entered carefully. UTR number should be entered into the form correctly without making any mistakes. Read the prospectus carefully before entering any details.
