CMC Vellore MBBS Entrance Exam Pattern
Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore is one of the largest medical institutions in India. This century old medical institute is located in southern state of Tamil Nadu named Vellore. CMC Vellore has almost all major medical and surgical subspecialty departments and conducts an all-India entrance test to select candidates for MBBS. CMC Vellore is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. There are many courses offered by CMC for undergraduate training including para-medical courses. Some of them are Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (B.O.T.), Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT), B.P.T., M.B.B.S, etc. The candidates are admitted for M.B.B.S course on the basis of their marks secured in the entrance test.
Eligibility for CMC Vellore MBBS Entrance Exam
The basic eligibility for appearing in entrance exam is to pass higher secondary examination in 10+ 2 pattern after studying for twelve years from any recognized university. The candidate should study Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in the last two years of study. The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 60% in each of Biology, Physics, and Chemistry and should have an aggregate of 140/200 in all these subjects both in the competitive examination and the qualifying examination. The candidate should have passed in English. The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years at the time of admission.
Exam Pattern for CMC Vellore MBBS Entrance Exam
The entrance exam consists of objective type multiple choice questions. The paper consists of questions from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and General ability. Emphasis will be on the Speed and Accuracy. There will be some questions from issues of current topical interest. The duration of the entrance exam is 3 hours and 10 minutes. There are 180 questions in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry which is to be completed in two hours. The total number of questions in General Ability with emphasis on Speed and Accuracy and on Issues of Current Topical interest is 120. The duration for this section is 70 minutes. The candidates who clear the written test are called for practical test and interviews. The candidates who are admitted to MBBS course have to work in area of need for two years after completing the course.
