Reasoning is the test IV of the IGNOU OPENMAT test for management programmes. This part contains the maximum number of questions in the question paper of OPENMAT, so it shows the importance of this section in the entrance test. The details of the pattern of the test are provided below.

Qualification:

Anyone with a graduate degree in any discipline can take this test.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

Reasoning is the fourth part of OPENMAT. There are 70 questions in this part and the maximum marks are 70. No negative marking is there for wrong answers.

Mode of Exam:

This test is a conventional test. Students have to take the test at prescribed test centres. This is not an online test.

Format:

All the questions in this test are multiple choice type questions. There are no subjective questions in this paper.

Paper Pattern:

The reasoning test consists of 70 questions. Each of the questions is of 1 mark. All the questions have four alternative answers. A candidate has to mark the correct one on the OMR answer sheet. As said above, there is no negative marking. Avoid marking multiple answers for a single question as they will be treated as wrong answers.

Marking:

Each correct answer fetches a candidate 1 mark. If there is a question which you think do not have any correct answer out of the four options given, you can mark 0 on the answer sheet. Do not make stray marks on the answer sheet. The bubbles should be darkened completely.

Schedule:

The allotted time for the test is three hours, and in those three hours students have to answer three more sections. So time management is a crucial point for this entrance test.
