Small Industries Development Development Bank of India was established on April 2, 1990 under the Government of India. It was established as a principal development financial institution for the promotion, financing and development of indutries in the small scale sector. The major function of the bank is to co-ordinate the functions of the institutions engaged in the promotion and developing industry in the small scale sector. The bank is an apex body which is mainly responsible for formulating and monitoring the programmes running for promotion and development of smalle cale industries.
