Berhampur University is one of the most prominent Universities situated in Bhanja Bihar, Brehampur in Orissa. This is a University which has a lot of government as well as non government colleges affiliated to it. This University offers many courses in different subject area such as home science, History, English, commerce, botany, economics, chemistry etc. The basis of selection for the M.Phil course in this University is mainly through an entrance examination. The candidates should prepare thoroughly in order to score well in the entrance examination because this is the basis on which the candidates will be given selection for the M.Phil Course.

Structure of Berhampur University Mphil Chemistry Entrance test

The structure of the entrance examination will generally involve both the objective type answer well as the short answer type questions. There will be a total of 100 questions which will be equally divided as 50 objective type questions and 50 short answer type questions. It will be a 3 hour duration examination. The main coverage in the exam will involve subjects which are covered in the post graduation level. It is mandatory for the candidates to obtain 50% marks in the written examination to get in to the next level of personal interview. There will be relaxation in case of the marks for the reserved categories such as SC/ST which will be 40%. The final selection will be based on the score obtained in the entrance examination.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who have passed the M.Sc degree in Chemistry with 55% of marks in the PG level are eligible to apply. There is a relaxation of 5% marks for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as SC/ST. The candidates should have secured the post graduation degree from a recognized university.

How to Apply?

The candidates can apply online for the M.Phil course. The candidates can download the information from the official website of the Berhempur University www.bamu.nic.in. The candidates should fill in the application form and send it along with all the other specified documents to the Head of the Department/Director, WSRC within the last date of receipt of applications. The candidates can also obtain the printed copy of the application form from the P.G. Central Office, Berhampur University, by paying the application fee of Rs 300 as bank challan. The candidates can also obtain the application via post by paying Rs. 300 through crossed Bank Draft.

The bank draft should be payable in favor of The State Bank of India, Bhanja, Bihar (Branch Code: 2107) and should be drawn in favor of Comptroller of Finance, Berhampur University. It is necessary for the candidates to enter their name in the back side of the DD. It is also necessary for the candidates to affix a self addressed envelope of size 30 x 12 cm affixed with postal stamps worth Rs. 50/- for each application form. Those candidates who are applying online are required to pay Rs. 1000 as the application fees. In case of the candidates who are applying the printed application forms, they should pay Rs 700 as the application fees. The fees should be paid as bank draft which should be drawn in favor of the Registrar, Chemistry Department and payable at the State Bank  India, Bhanja Bihar (Code 2107), Berhampur-760007. Also the candidates should send in the filled in application form along with the bank draft to the Head of Department, Chemistry Department, Berhampur University, Orissa.

How to fill the form?

The candidates should check in detail whether the information that they have entered is correct or not. The candidates should be careful while entering the bank draft details and other particulars. The application should be sent to the correct address as mentioned which should also be checked. It is mandatory for the candidates to attach two self addressed envelopes with the filled in application form which is of size of size 22 cm x 10 cm. The candidates should check whether they have attached all the important documents which are needed.
