Berhampur University is one of the well known Universities in Orissa. The University covers wide area comprising of many districts such as Ganjam, Koraput, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nowrangapur, Kandhamala , Malkangiri and Boudh. Many government and non government colleges are affiliated to Berhampur University. The University provides various courses in Arts, Commerce, Law, Science, Education, Medicine, Pharmacology, Engineering, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Library Science, Fine Arts and Military Science. The University conducts entrance exam for the various M.Phil courses.

Structure of Berhampur University M.Phil Botany Entrance Test

The admission to M.Phil Botany course is done by an entrance test and interview. The entrance test consists of one paper. The duration of the test is 2 hours. The total marks for the entrance test is 100 marks. This is divided among two sections. The first section will be objective type questions. The marks for this section will be 50. The second section will be short-answer type questions. The total marks for this section is also 50.  The candidates should obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test. Such candidates are eligible to appear for interview. The candidates will get admission for M.Phil Botany on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance test and marks obtained in the interview.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should have passed M.Sc Botany or M.Sc Life Science from Berhampur University or any other equivalent recognized University. The Candidate should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in the postgraduation course.

How to apply?

The candidates can apply for M.Phil Botany course online through the official website www.bamu.nic.in. If the candidate is applying online, then the signed hardcopy along with all the documents and application fee should reach the Head of the

Department/Director, WSRC before the last date of submission of online application. The candidate can also download the form from the official website www.bamu.nic.in. The candidates can obtain the printed application form from the P.G. Central Office, Berhampur University on payment of Rs. 300/- through Bank Challan. The candidates can obtain the application from by post on payment of Rs. 300/- through crossed Bank Draft. The bank draft should be drawn in favor of Comptroller of Finance, Berhampur University and payable at The State Bank of India, Bhanja, Bihar (Branch Code: 2107).

The candidate should enclose a self addressed envelope of size 30 x 12 cm affixed with postal stamps worth Rs. 50/- for each application form. The candidate should enter the name on the back side of the Bank Draft. The candidates who are applying in the printed application form from the P.G. Central Office should pay an amount of Rs. 700/- as Examination fees. The candidates who are applying online should pay Rs 1000/- as fees. The fees should be paid through account payee Bank draft drawn in favor of the Head of the Department, Botany Department and payable at the State Bank  India, Bhanja Bihar (Code 2107), Berhampur-760007. The candidate should send the filled in application form along with the draft to Head of Department, Botany Department, Berhampur University, Orissa.

How to fill the Form?

The candidate should enter all the details in the application form correctly. The candidate should cross check with the demand draft before filling the bank details. The candidate should enter full address of communication along with the pin code. The candidate should enclose two self addressed envelopes of size 22 cm x 10 cm along with the filled in application form. The candidate should cross check all the enclosures to be sent along with the application form.
