The Punjab State Power Electricity Board (PSEB) has two companies under its control being Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited for taking care of the power and transmission needs of the state of Punjab.

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited is looking for brilliant, young and dynamic candidates for the positions of Supervisor (instrumentation) and Junior Engineer (Civil) from the branch of Instrumentation and Civil Engineering respectively and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Name of the Vacancies: Supervisor (Instrumentation)/Junior Engineer (Civil)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 39, which is divided between the two positions as follows:

• Supervisor (Instrumentation) – 09

• Junior Engineer (Civil) - 30

Pay Scale: For both positions, candidates will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.10090-34800+4350 Grade pay.

Eligibility requirements:

Educational Qualification:

Supervisor (Instrumentation): This position is applicable for candidates with Diploma in instrumentation or electronics engineering and also for B.E/B. Tech/B. Sc Engineering or AMIE in instrumentation & control or electronics & communication engineering.

Junior Engineer (Civil) - Candidates must have completed their three or four year diploma course in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by the central or state government with not less than 60% of marks. Even, candidates with B. Sc/B. Tech/BE in Civil Engineering with not less than 60% of marks from a recognized institution are eligible to apply. Candidates with not less than 60% of marks in civil engineering course conducted by the Institution of Engineering, Calcutta are eligible to apply.

Candidates must have studied Punjabi at least up to matriculation or class X level.

Age: For both the positions, candidates must be between the age group of 18 and 37 years as on the 1st of January 2011. Upper age relaxation applicable for SC/ST candidates is 5 years, for PH candidates is 10 years and to the extent of service offered in armed forces of Union of India for Ex-servicemen.

Selection Procedure:

Eligible candidates will have to take up written test and merit list shall be prepared according to the marks secured by the candidates in the written test. The minimum qualifying marks in written test for general category candidates is 50% and for reserved category candidates is 40%. Application fee:

Fee to be paid by general category and candidates other then SC category is Rs.500 per application and for SC category, the fee to be paid is Rs.200. Fee should be paid through challan in any branch of State Bank of Patiala and no other mode of payment will be accepted. Candidates after initial registration can take printout of the filled up form and challan form for payment of fee and after payment of fee in SBOP, they will be allotted with a computer generated transaction Number that will be indicated in the candidate copy of the challan.
