Until the end of 1954, there was no formal recruitment agency in the state of Jammu & Kashmir and only on the 31st of December 1954 a public service recruitment board was established in the state. Immediately after this, the constitution of Jammu & Kashmir state established the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission on the 2nd of September 1957.

Recruitment by JKPSC:

Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission has called for applications from Permanent residents of the state of Jammu & Kashmir for the position of dental surgeon in Health and Family Welfare Department and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Name of the Vacancy: Dental Surgeons

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 54, which is divided among the different category of candidates as follows:

• RBA – 04

• SC – 16

• ST – 28

• ALC - 06

Horizontal reservation is applicable for PH candidates.

Pay scale: Candidates appointed for the position of dental surgeons will be coming under the pay of Rs.9300-34800+GP of Rs.4500

Eligibility requirements:

Education: Candidates must have completed their Bachelor of Dental Surgery course from the DCI recognized institution.

Age: The minimum age requirement is 18 years and maximum age requirement is 37 years as on the 1st of January 2011. Upper age limit for PH candidates is 39, RBA/SC/ST/ALC/SLC candidates is 40 years, in-service candidates is 45 years and ex-servicemen is 48 years.

Application forms:

Candidates can get the application forms from the office of the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission on cash payment of Rs.50 and Rs.10 from the counters opened by the representative of J & K Bank in Jammu and Srinagar offices of the commission.

Fee:

A fee of Rs.400 in respect to general category candidates and Rs.200 in respect to reserved category candidates must be paid in the form of cash through the counters of J & K bank on the campus of JKPSC at Srinagar and Jammu. Application forms sent through post should accompany DD for the equivalent amount drawn in favor of Controller of Examinations JKPSC payable at Srinagar or Jammu.
