Kerala Forest Research Institute was established in the year 1975 under the Government of Kerala. The institute is basically a research organisation located at Thrissur, India. Initially, the institute was a part of its Science and Technology Department. However, later on the institute became a part of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment in the year 2003. The institute is managed by a Management Committee headed by a Director. The institute functions as a Center of Excellence in forestry. The institute aims to provide scientific support to the State.

Job Profile:

Kerala Forest Research Institute is looking forward to make recruitment of eligible candidates on the vacant positions of Scientist B and Scientist E1. Only eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the specified positions. Posts of Scientist B are available in the disciplines of Tree Physiology, Silviculture, Forest Ecology, Wood Science, Statistics, Forest Entomology, Soil Science, GIS, Forest Protection, Ecophysiology, Landscape Ecology and Forest Biotechnology. Posts of Scientist E1 are available in the disciplines of Genetics & Tree Breeding, Remote Sensing, Forest Botany, Wildlife Biology and Forest Pathology.

Eligibility:

All interested candidates must strictly follow the age criteria set for applying for the posts of Scientist B and Scientist E1 in Kerala Forest Research Institute.

Age Limit for the posts of Scientist B: The maximum age limit set for the post is 35 years as on closing date of application.

Age Limit for the posts of Scientist E1: The maximum age limit set for the post is 40 years as on closing date of application.

Maximum age limit may be relaxed for the candidates belonging to reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, as per the rules of Kerala Government.

Educational Qualification:

Scientist B: M.Sc. degree in concerned discipline or branch from a recognized institute or university with Ph.D. degree. Candidates must also possess research experience in relevant application or field.

Scientist E1: M.Sc. degree in concerned discipline from a recognized institute or university with Ph.D. degree. Minimum five years post doctoral experience in relevant field is also required.

Scientist E1: Only 5 posts are available.

Pay Scale:

Scientist B: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.
Scientist E1: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.
