The institute was actually incorporated by Science and Technology Department, Government of Gujarat. It was established under the Socities Registration Act. The chairman of the governing council of the society of institute is Chief Minister of Gujarat State. The supervision of the activities of institute is performed by an executive committee.

Institute of Seismological Research is making recruitment on the following posts of Director, Scientist-D, Scientist-C and Scientist-B:

1. Recruitment of Director:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.

2. Recruitment of Scientist-D:
No. of posts: Only 2 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 7600.

3. Recruitment of Scientist-C:
No. of posts: Only 2 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

4. Recruitment of Scientist-B:
No. of posts: Only 2 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Selection Process:

The selection process for all the above specified posts includes a written test and a personal interview test. Candidates will have to qualify in written test first and only those qualified candidates will be called for the interview test.
